CCCC Vice President Chen Yun and CRBC Chairman Lu Shan Meet with His Excellency Kenyataa- President of Kenya

On the afternoon of May 14, CCCC Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Chen Yun, and CRBC Chairman Lu Shan, met with his Excellency Kenyataa- President of Kenya, who came to China to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. All parties had an in-depth communication about the cooperation in infrastructure construction in Kenya and other matters.

His Excellency President Kenyataa noted that Mombasa-Nairobi SGR undertaken by CCCC is a flagship project of Kenya’s 2030 Vision that has received great concern from the governments of both countries, and that the Government of Kenya and local residents are looking forward to the opening and operation of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR. His Excellency President Kenyataa hoped CCCC can participate in the infrastructure construction in Kenya in a more extensive manner and make more contributions for the development of Kenya.

Vice President Chen Yun presented that CCCC will continue to build the “Belt and Road” in cooperation with Kenya, and drive the economic development of regions along and around the Belt and Road by constructing East Africa Railway Network and other traffic corridors in a bid to achieve Kenya’s 2030 Vision. Vice President Chen Yun hoped his Excellency President Kenyataa and the Government of Kenya can fully support CCCC and CRBC in the operation and safety guarantee of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR, as well as the follow-up cooperation projects.

CRBC Chairman Lu Shan and his Excellency President Kenyataa exchanged in-depth views with each other on the opening ceremony of Mombasa-Nairobi SGR on May 31, 2017 and other issues with common interests, and reached important consensus thereupon.

CRBC Vice President Li Qiang and CRBC President Assistant Li Gang were also present.
