Improvement of the Hatirjheel-Rampura-Bonoshree Ideal School and College-Sheikherjaiga- Amulia -Demra Highway into 4-lanes (including link to Chittagong road intersection and access to Tarabo) through Public Private Partnership

The Project starts from the Chittagong interchange connecting Chittagong Road and N1 National Highway and ends at the Rampura interchange connecting DIT Road, the urban principal arterial Road. The total length of the Project is 12.5km, including around 8 km elevated section (including the Rampura interchange section) and around 4km at grade section, and is expected to establish a strong connectivity among the capital city Dhaka to Chittagong, Sylhet, Narayangonj and other eastern districts of Bangladesh. The Project includes a two-way four-lane divided access-controlled toll road and a two-lane service road (one or both sides), three interchanges, and one toll plaza.
The owner of the project is The Roads and Highways Department of the Government of Bangladesh, which is implemented in the mode of "government availability payment", with a concession period of 25 years (construction period of 4 years and operation period of 21 years).The consortium formed by China Road and Bridge and China Communications Construction officially received the bid winning notice issued by the owner on December 1, 2021, and signed the PPP contract on January 9, 2022.
The construction of the Project will connect the capital Dhaka with Chittagong, Sylhet, Narayanganj, and other eastern regions of Bangladesh, which will not only benefit the social and economic development of Dhaka but also benefit the development of the whole of Bangladesh. The improvement of transportation services will definitely stimulate economic development and benefit the surrounding residents.
