The First Chinese Speech Contest for International Students Sponsored by CRBC Is Successfully Held
On June 13, the Final Competition of the “Striving for China Dream, Show A Smart Africa” - First Chinese Speech Contest for International Students sponsored by CRBC was held in Beijing Jiaotong University. 15 students from Kenya, Congo-Brazzaville, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, etc. shared their interesting stories in China with the audiences.

Among the attendees were CRBC Chairman Lu Shan, Shen Zhan- CPC Deputy Secretary, Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection and Chairman of the Labor Union of CRBC, Zhao Junhai- Vice President of Chang’an University, Jiang Changbo- Vice President of Changsha University of Science and Technology, Guan Zhongliang- Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, Abdoulaye Fall- Senegal Ambassador to China, German EKUA SIMA ABAGA- Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to China, Abel Ailonc - Minister Counselor of the Republic of Congo to China, and AJudd Eina- First Secretary of Togo Ambassador to China.

All these international students receive undergraduate education in China sponsored by CRBC, and now study in Beijing Jiaotong University, Chang’an University and Changsha University of Science and Technology respectively. The final contest consists of junior group and senior group with 6 and 9 contestants respectively. The specific contents include 3-minute keynote speech and 3-minute talent show. During the contest, they international students proactively presented themselves, delivered their goals of their study in China and vision to return back to make contributions for the development of their homeland, and shared the colorful life in China. In talent show, they perfectly showed their talents, and brought the audiences local songs and dances or Chinese traditional arts, winning the warm applauses from the audience.

CRBC Lu Shan noted that, as an important participant and implementer of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, CRBC attaches greater importance to the People-to-People Bond along the Belt and Road while focusing on connectivity of infrastructures, actively fulfills its overseas social responsibilities, provides job opportunities for locals, promotes the cultural communication and exchange, and proactively cooperates with the country in talent cultivation and local training. Up to now, CRBC has sponsored 291 students from 6 countries including Kenya, Congo-Brazzaville, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Togo to further their study in China, who will finally return their own country and promote the Sino-foreign cultural communication and exchange with the rich knowledge they learnt in China.
Guan Zhongliang- Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University noted that this contest strengthens the communication between CRBC and some other universities on cultivation and training of international students. He also hoped that the universities and CRBC could enhance the communication, create a collaborative and innovative entrusted international student training mechanism and further improve the quality of international student cultivation via this activity to create an efficient platform for the communication, exchange, interaction and linkage on cultivation of international students.
